Western New England College is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Located on an attractive 215-acre suburban campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, the College offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Law. DKA developed a branding campaign using real students as spokespeople to create authenticity and approachability for WNEC’s enrollment message. From 2005 to 2006, undergraduate enrollment increased from 2,412 to 2,840 students (nearly 18%). Applications increased from targeted Boston suburban areas. And as part of the Boston media buy, we negotiated free placements on affiliated Springfield stations to help boost local awareness and perceptions. At the same time, U.S. News’ America’s Best Colleges ranked Western New England College among the top tier in the north region’s “Best Universities – Master’s” category – the designation for 572 universities nationwide offering a full range of undergraduate and master’s programs.
