DKA drives new Hartford Parking Authority website development.

The HPA website was over 10 years old and did not adequately meet the needs of the public and staff. The design was dated and not optimized for mobile device viewing or ADA/language accessibility. Overall, the website lacked a clear navigation path for visitors to efficiently find specific information they were looking for. The primary objective of designing and developing a new website for HPA was to make parking information, locations, citation payments/appeals, City events, weather/traffic alerts, news items, governance reports, and other information readily available and easily accessible to its constituents. Additional objectives were to engage Hartford residents, workers, employers, businesses, visitors, attractions, and other stakeholders and provide opportunities to promote the City as a great place to live, work, play and visit; as well as to enable easier updating of the website by HPA staff.

DKA brands and launches mobile app to improve parking convenience in Hartford.

With the introduction of Woonerf, the Hartford Parking Authority’s goal was to create the foundation for a mobile app that will ultimately provide one total parking solution for residents and visitors. Woonerf, which loosely means “living street” in Dutch, allows motorists to conveniently pay for metered parking with no added fees, extend their time, and receive warnings that their time is about to expire. It also provides merchants the opportunity to validate metered parking for their customers, allows motorists to set up an e-wallet to purchase parking at a discount, as well as allows them to purchase an additional hour if they are in danger of receiving a meter citation. The app was also designed to allow for future functionality including off-street parking and information related to other modes of travel, such as bicycle and short-term car rentals. DKA provided branding and logo design, informational literature copy and design, and public relations services for the product launch.
